Olympiads
The Olympiad exam is a competitive exam that helps students in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) and other schools develop a competitive mindset and evaluate their knowledge:
Purpose: Olympiad exams help students discover their hidden talents and skills, and promote logical thinking and concept-based learning.
Eligibility: Students in grades 1–12 who meet the eligibility criteria set by the Olympiad conducting body are eligible to take the exam.
Syllabus: The Olympiad exam syllabus is divided into three sections: subjective questions, the High Order Thinking Section (HOT), and the logical reasoning section.
Benefits: Olympiad exams help students improve their academic performance and compare their knowledge level to other students. Some Olympiads, like the Indian Talent Olympiad, also grant scholarships to deserving candidates.
Examples: The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) is an example of an Olympiad exam. The IOQM is a three-hour exam with 30 questions in English and Hindi.
